The Insteon 2852-222 Water Leak Sensor uses the dual-mesh Insteon protocol (both RF and powerline) for extremely reliable communication in metal-heavy utility rooms where pure RF sensors sometimes miss. It sounds a local 85 dB alarm and sends an Insteon event that can trigger shutoff valves, lights, and notifications in an Insteon-based smart home.
